A review of the Tanzhausfest

Der Bär tobt in der Kongresshalle ...
Then

When in 1985 young people who where bored of disco-music gathered to look for different ways to dance to music. They had already discovered the Volkstänze and used them in an unconventional way.

After complicated ceremonies to reach official approval the

1.Leipziger Tanzhausfest from May 10. to 11. 1986

took place at the Leipziger congress hall.

"Der Bär tobt in der Kongresshalle ..." we started at a high level. The entire Leipziger congress hall was used: the big saloon, the Goethe chamber, Richard-Wagner-saloon, Foyer and the Post-Office.

Ulrich Doberenz and Paula Schwab were the directors of Organisation and responsible for the venture.

In matter of dance and related projects the big heads were Andreas Hertenberger (Hoffmann)/Lumich, Christine Uhlmann/Tanz- & Springband, Sigrid Römer (Lembke)/Kreuz & Square.

Micha Höffner guarded the order (ordered the guards), Eva-Maria Richter managed the dormitories Heike Rothmann's job was the cuisine.
